Frequently asked questions
Why does Chinese text show up garbled after converting?
The converter detects UTF-8, UTF-16 and GBK automatically and always writes UTF-8. If an older player still shows garbled text, keep "Add BOM" checked.
Can a regular LRC file become word-by-word karaoke subtitles?
A regular LRC file only stores when each line starts, so it converts to line-by-line subtitles. Enhanced LRC with per-word timestamps such as <00:12.50> converts to ASS with a word-by-word fill effect. To align each word of a regular lyric file, use Sublyric.
Does converting ASS to SRT keep fonts and colors?
No. SRT, VTT and SBV have no styling, so only text and timing are kept. Per-word timing from karaoke ASS can be kept by converting to enhanced LRC.
